Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, i’m Ben and have recently taken the reigns of this very fine website. I won’t be rolling out any drastic changes, the site will retain the same quality it always has.

I will however be looking for places to make improvements or add enhancements. I’m a london, UK based Freelance Web Designer, and i’ve already had a great time building and successfully maintaining Matchbox Twenty plus – a fansite dedicated to matchbox twenty – the site is now in its 8th year online. I hope to build a lasting relationship with everyone here and look forward to growing this already well established and popular site even more.

“I was 6-4 since I was 12, and I was also the only Jewish kid at a Catholic school,” said Segel, one of the stars of the CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother.”

“Kids would stand around me in a circle, and they would chant ‘Ride the oaf! Ride the oaf!’ And then they would jump on my back, and I would have to shake them off.”

Which is when he chose to be funny.

“I think you either become funny or a serial killer. I went with funny,” Segal said.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Dexter Emmy winner is nearing a deal to play Neil Patrick Harris’ onscreen dad, Jerome Whitaker, in one episode later this season. Questions surrounding Barney’s MIA papa have dogged the legendary lothario during much of the show’s run. Red herrings he encountered on his quest included everyone from Bob Barker to Ben Vereen (a.k.a. his half-brother’s dad, Sam).

It’s not clear how or exactly when Barney will come face-to-face with his estranged dad, but it’s safe to say said reunion will be… wait for it… epic. What did you think I was going to say?! (Source)

Speaking about this storyline this week and whether he was worried about the tone, Jason Segel said, “No, I was very excited. I like having a little drama in my comedy, because that’s what real life is like. It’s like James Brooks style. There is a 10% more demonstrative style on a sitcom. You have to sell a joke and all of that. And [with] this, the job is just to be honest, which I love. It’s my favorite.”

Segel revealed there was a lot of work by the HIMYM producers to keep this plot turn under wraps, explaining, “In the script we received, the last scene was, ‘Marshall, I’m pregnant.’ And then they told us on the day, ‘No, that’s not what’s happening.’ And they gave us the alternate pages.”

Both Segel and Alyson Hannigan spoke about Segel’s decision to not know what Hannigan’s exact lines were in that scene. As Segel put it, “I didn’t want to know what she was going to say to me when she got out of that cab.” Hannigan recalled asking, “‘Jason are, you sure?’ I was like, ‘I’m going to take some pauses and okay, the last word [for your cue] is ‘it.” I was like, ‘I don’t say ‘it’ any other time.’”

Said Segel, “I had no idea what [Hannigan] was going to say to me. I knew the overall premise, but she came out and she was already crying and it was so heartbreaking and it made acting very easy. All I had to do was react in that scene. I didn’t have to dig very deep.”

Amazingly, only one take of that powerful scene was filmed. Hannigan recalled asking the director and producers, “‘Are you sure? We should probably do it again!’ But they were like, ‘It’s perfect!’”

Monday’s new episode, “Last Words,” will delve further into Marshall’s reaction to his father’s death. Segel said he felt this storyline was, “Really exciting. And you wouldn’t think that it’s funny, but they found a way to shine a light on the funny parts of grieving that’s great.”

Said Hannigan, “Marshall is going to go through a huge re-evaluation of his whole life, because that was his best friend and he was so inspired by his dad. There are going to be some interesting ups and downs I think. ”

How I Met Your Mother: “Last Words” airs Monday, January 17th on CBS. (Source)
