How I Met Your Mother actor (and flagrant nudist) Jason Segel appeared on stage with the Swell Season at L.A.’s Wiltern last night to sing a song we’ll call “315-329-6673,” after the phone number he disseminates in the chorus — and on a handwritten sign toted by Marketa Irglova — in hopes of finding a nice girl to make love to him:
Saturday Maroon 5 played a concert at St. John’s University and Jason Segel came out to play a few songs with Adam Levine. It’s early, I haven’t had coffee yet, so my brain is still trying to make sense of this.
“During the intermission between Fitz and the Tantrums and Maroon 5, Adam Levine brought out a special unannounced guest to the stage which really brought the house down. The special guest turned out to be Jason Segel (you might know him from How I Met Your Mother, I Love You Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up etc.) and Jason ended up playing the piano and singing a couple of songs from his recent movies (he’s actually a very talented musician and a hilarious song writer),” writes Herman Young.
There’s absolutely no way you could expect or plan for something this delish. Anyway, who wants to call the number and see if it’s viral marketing or his actual phone numer? 315-329-6673.
A few months ago we were treated to a mysterious teaser for a new film titled Despicable Me, which had a cornucopia of comedic names attached to it like Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Will Arnett, Kristin Wiig, Russel Brand, and Danny McBride. We’re finally getting a bit more of the puzzle solved as the second trailer for the film has hit the web.
The film focuses on Gru (Carell), the world’s #2 super villain, who is constantly at the throat of #1, his competition and enemy, Vector (Segel). The film takes a few interesting turns, which force Gru to rethink his evil ways.
The film comes from the studio and animation department that brought us Ice Age, Robots, and Horton Hears a Who! and the writing team who brough us Bubble Boy and The Santa Clause 2. Check out the second teaser after the jump, which focuses on the rivalry between Gru and Vector.
Can first-time Emmy nominee for Outstanding Comedy Series How I Met Your Mother grab the gold from the trophy hogs at 30 Rock? Creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays sure think so, as does the show’s cast.
Mediaweek correspondent Alan Frutkin was on set last month—when the CBS comedy (produced by 20th Century Fox TV) celebrated its nomination at a champagne-popping press conference—and spoke to the folks behind the sitcom.
