Will Marshall & Lily have a baby?

As we creep towards the fifth season finale of “How I Met Your Mother,” one serious question looms large: Will Marshall and Lily begin the (potentially) arduous process of trying to conceive? Well, I’ve got the answer — find that out, as well as how Neil Patrick Harris dressed like a bizarro Aladdin factors into it in the spoiler zone below!

A little backstory — the prospect of Lily and Marshall becoming Mom and Dad is something that’s been building ever since they got married in season two. When I asked Alyson Hannigan about potential parenthood back in January, she said, “the writers toyed with the idea but I think it would definitely hinder our bar scenes. So I know they’ll get around to it, I just don’t know if they’re ready to not have us at the bar all the time.”

Well, it seems that the writers have made a definitive choice since the May 24 season finale will see Lily and Marshall establishing a toddler timetable. The plan they devise is also where that episode — “Doppelgangers” — derives its title.

TV’s cutest couple decides to leave their amniotic adventures in the hands of destiny. And no, I don’t mean that in a “pulling the goalie” kind of way — lilypad and marshmallow decide that when they finally happen upon Barney’s doppelganger, they will start trying to have a baby.

And I think it’s safe to say from the sight of this sword wielding, carrot topped, bizarro Barney that it might be time to babyproof MacLaren’s!

Judy Greer And Susan Sarandon Join Jeff Who Lives At Home

I’m probably a little overly excited about Jeff Who Lives At Home, the next comedy from directing brothers Mark and Jay Duplass. It’s entirely because I saw their upcoming film Cyrus at Sundance and fell in love with it, and with their new movie starring Ed Helms and Jason Segel, it’s hard to imagine a better possible team.

Now two more people have joined the movie to thrill me all over again– Variety reports that Judy Greer will play the wife of Helms’s character, who he believes is cheating on here, while Susan Sarandon will play the devoted mother who lets Segel’s character, the Jeff of the title, live at home with. The movie’s plot sets in motion when the brothers decide to spy on the wife, though if the movie is anything like Cyrus it will be a series of natural-seeming events that result in comedy anyway.

Greer’s casting is particularly exciting, since she’s a hilarious actress who shines on television– “Say goodbye to these!” for Arrested Development fans– but largely gets stuck with the “best friend” role in the movies. Can the Duplass brothers finally give her the kind of role she deserves? I think you know how I feel about the answer to that question.

Jason Segel Wrote a Song for Russell Brand

If you’ve been watching the slow death that is this season of How I Met Your Mother, you may have forgotten that Jason Segel — the guy relegated to food jokes and general wackiness — is awesome. Here is a reminder: “Bangers Beans and Mash,” the Segel-penned smash for Infant Sorrow, the band fronted by Russell Brand’s relapsed rock-star character Aldous Snow in Get Him to the Greek. The connection, of course, is that Aldous Snow originated in Segel’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where he sang the brilliantly dumb “We’ve Got to Do Something.” “Bangers” — a brokenhearted power-rock ballad — is even better. Sample lyric: “And I know that you won’t come just for the cash/will you come for my bangers, my beans, and mash?” This is already our second-favorite Jason Segel song about girls.

‘Jeff Who Lives At Home’ Filming Locations in Metairie, LA

Beginning tomorrow, “Jeff Who Lives At Home” will be filming on Clearview Parkway between Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Meadowdale Street in Metairie, LA.

The movie is scheduled to shoot a car-crash scene near Clearview and Newlands Avenue on Friday, Monday and Tuesday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The movie stars Jason Segel as Jeff, a guy who leaves his house to run an errand for his disgruntled mother when he discovers that the universe might be sending him signals about the nature of his destiny. Ed Helms play Jeff’s curmudgeonly, ornery older brother Pat.

The movie has been filming in and around New Orleans for about 2 weeks. The shoot will continue through May.
